You may recall that a few days ago James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond was indicted on murder-for-hire charges. Now, Rosemond has confessed to being involved in the 1994 shooting of Tupac Shakur in New York City. (Keep in mind this is different from Tupac’s lethal shooting that occurred two years later.)
.
The Village Voice is reporting that Rosemond implicated himself in the still-unsolved shooting during one of his confessions and he chose to confess his knowledge of the crime with the stipulation that the information would not be used to prosecute him.
.
Tupac himself seemed keen to the fact that Rosemond was behind the attack and in a song called “Against All Odds” he rapped, “Promised a payback, Jimmy Henchman, in due time/ I know you bitch n—-s is listenin’, ‘The World Is Mine’/ Set me up, wet me up, n—-s stuck me up/ Heard the guns bust but you tricks never shut me up.”
.
The bad news is that Rosemond can’t be charged for his role in the ‘94 shooting to the fact that the attack was classified as a robbery and the statue of limitations for that crime is only seven years. In the meantime let’s listen to some Tupac Radio as we once again pay tribute to a talent that left us far too soon.
