BOISE — There is a new report of a mountain lion in the area. A Garden City homeowner reported her dog was attacked by a mountain lion last Thursday.

Amanda Larrinaga says her dog, Riley, was attacked on Oct. 18 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.  She says Riley suffered some wounds to her head and neck, and her ear had to be surgically reattached. The dog is expected to make a full recovery.

Todd Grimm with the USDA’s Wildlife Services confirmed the attack happened at a home on East Eddy Place in Garden City.

The mountain lion came into the dog’s backyard and now the Meadow Creek Homeowners Association is warning residents about the incident.

Grimm said they don’t know if this is the same lion that has been spotted around Boise for the last few week, but he thinks it probably is.
